Swallows hold a special place in my heart. On my honeymoon, Neal and I went to Portugal where they hold a unique fascination with swallows. The exteriors of houses are lined with beautiful ceramic swallows and you see them in all the shops and storefronts and so began my love for this beautiful bird.
I learned that swallows mate for life and although they travel a great distance each year in their migration, they tend to return to the place where their original nest was, the nest they were born in.
